My practice begins in clay and reaches across materials – exploring memory, power, politics and place. Much of my work draws on personal and collective histories of South Wales. Growing up in the 1970s: the pride, the loss, the way progress and decay live side by side in the same street. 

I’ve had my studio at The Pop Factory in Porth for over a decade, and I’m the founder of Mud Art and Soul, where I teach ceramics to adults and children. 

As a working-class, neurodivergent woman in her 50s, I’ve long felt disconnected from the structures of the art world. Growing up art was never seen as a viable career, and I never really felt like I fitted in. 

But I’ve always known I was an artist. Now, I’m finally feeling like I belong.
